More on Dog Breeds
A breed describes a tendency, not a guarantee. Whether a dog fits your daily life matters more for living together than the name of its breed. Our breed pages cover temperament, exercise and activity needs, training demands, health risks including notes on breeding for harmful traits, and the FCI classification. Where needed, we name extreme breeding problems such as BOAS, chondrodysplasia and merle homozygosity, and point to responsible breeding. The breed finder lets you filter by suitability, fit with children, living space and experience.
