We live from advertising, affiliate commissions and voluntary support – and we tell you exactly where that happens. This page reveals what we earn from, what costs you nothing, and which rules we set for ourselves regarding editorial content.

rundum.dog is an editorial platform of dataloft GmbH. We live from advertising, affiliate commissions and voluntary support, and we disclose this exactly where it happens. This page summarises what we promise, what we do concretely, and what costs you nothing, even though we earn money.

What to expect on rundum.dog

  • Editorial content first. Articles, wikis and dog breed profiles are created according to our research standard. Advertising, affiliate marketing and sponsorship do not influence editorial statements.
  • Advertising is marked as advertising. Affiliate links carry the marker [Anzeige] (German for “advertisement”). On articles with multiple affiliate links, a notice block appears at the top of the article.
  • We do not recommend anything we would not stand by. If a product does not convince us, we describe that or omit it.

Affiliate and commissions

We use affiliate programmes with some selected providers. If you click on a link with the marker [Anzeige] and buy something, we receive a commission from the provider. The price does not change for you because of this.

What affiliate commissions finance: servers, hosting, research tools, editorial fees. What they do not finance: paid reviews, bought recommendations, sponsored wiki entries without labelling.

Sponsorship and paid articles

If an article, video or podcast is supported financially or with product placement by a third party, we clearly mark this on the article itself, not hidden in the footer. We name the sponsor explicitly. Sponsors have no influence on the editorial statement.

Current status: no ongoing sponsorship contracts.

Trust levels for service provider profiles

On service provider profiles (vet practices, dog schools, kennels, pet sittings, etc.) we show a trust level. What the individual levels mean:

  • Basic profile, profile created by us. Contact details from public sources. No contact with the provider.
  • Managed by the provider, the provider has taken over the profile after verification. Description texts and information come from the provider themselves.
  • Verified details, we have verified telephone and email (call confirmation or email bounce test), received proof of identity (trade licence, UID, commercial register) and, depending on the category, checked association membership, licence/diploma. Visible as a “Verified on [date]” badge in the listing.

What the trust level does not mean: It is not a content assessment of the service. It only indicates how reliable the details on the profile are. It does not replace a professional recommendation; you make the decision yourself and, in case of doubt, with an appointment on site.

Sources, studies, figures

Statistics, study statements and figures are linked with source and survey date. If a figure appears without evidence, that is an error; write to us, we will correct it.

Veterinary medical statements are created after vet editing or with reference to peer-reviewed sources. We do not give specific dosages, do not replace a vet visit and assume no liability for application attempts at home.

AI use in the editorial team

We use AI tools internally for: research screening, linguistic sanitisation of imported content (Swiss spelling, tone), schema/structured data generation. Every article supported by AI undergoes final editorial review. AI-generated images are labelled.

What we do not do: feed your account inputs or owner data into external AI models or release them for training. More on Data Ethics.

Data Protection and Tracking

What we measure, with what we measure it, and to whom we give data is stated in Data Protection and on Data Ethics. In short: anonymised reach (GA4 + Bing Webmaster Tools), no profiles, no retargeting pixels, no ad network linkage.

Corrections and Complaints

Is a statement incorrect? Is a source outdated? Does a profile contain false information? Write to us; we will correct it visibly (correction notice on the article with date) and usually respond within two working days.

Ad-free, Data Sales and Our Figures

What ad-free means for us: no display ads, no paid placements in editorial content and no affiliate links in guides. Expert entries are marked as a directory and do not influence editorial assessments. Advertising does not fund rundum.dog. We plan to charge experts a fee for directory listings; during the build-up phase, the verification level “Verified” is free, and early partners retain full functionality permanently.

We do not sell owner data. User data is not sold, rented or passed on to third parties for advertising purposes. More on this in our Data Ethics.

Our figures, counted transparently: Figures such as “over 2,500 wiki entries”, “over 370 breed portraits” or “over 2,000 verified experts” are automatically counted from the published entries per content type (as of 06/2026). For experts, “Verified” means: manually verified diploma, licence or trade certificates (see Editorial Standards).
